Design Milan: Third Episode

You may find online a fresh episode of “Design Milão” by Guto Requena.

In the third episode of the online series Guto introduces the viewers to the design of Zona Tortona, a disctrict in Milan which traditionally hosts the work of, let’s say, “unconventional” designers during the Milan Design Week.

This episode also features an exclusive interview with designer Oki Sato, celebrated for his work as Nendo.

Nendo is widely regarded as the current enfant terrible in design, producing innovative, delicate and poetic pieces.

According to his website, Nendo’s job is:

Cabbage Chair, by Nendo

Giving people a small ” ! ” moment.
There are so many small ” ! ” moments hidden in our everyday.

But we don’t recognize them.
and even when we do recognize them,we tend to unconsciously reset our
minds and forget what we’ve seen.

But we believe these small ” ! ” moments are what make our days so
interesting, so rich.

That’s why we want to reconstitute the everyday by collecting and
reshaping them into something that’s easy to understand.

We’d like the people who’ve encountered nendo’s designs to feel these
small ” ! ” moments intuitively.
